摘要：This paper extensively studies the identification, classification, and value measurement of FinTech innovations in China. Using the patent document data from 2008 to 2021, we apply machine learning algorithms to identify and classify FinTech patents according to the underlying technology. It is found that most FinTech innovations bring great value to innovators, among which Blockchain and Robo-advising bring the highest value. For the financial industry, the same technology has different effects in different industries. Robo-advising, which provided the greatest value to innovators among different FinTech category yet has a significant negative impact on the securities industry. Moreover, when this disruptive technology is introduced by FinTech start-ups, its impact on the securities industry is more negative, and the leader firms in the securities industry will be more negatively impacted because of the high degree of profit model inflexibility.

简介:张玲，广东金融学院教授，硕士生导师，金融科技系主任。研究方向为：金融科技、金融工程与风险管理、行为金融以及养老金融等。先后主持国家自然科学基金面上项目、青年项目、中国博士后科学基金、教育部人文社会科学基金、广东省自然科学基金、广东省人文社会科学规划基金等国家和省部级研究项目十余项，作为研究骨干参与了国家自然科学基金创新群体项目、国家自然科学基金重点项目、国家自然科学基金杰出青年基金项目、国家社科基金重点项目等若干。在《Journal of Economic Interaction and Coordination》、《Applied stochastic models in business and industry》、《Insurance：Mathematics and Economics》、《Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics》、《North American Journal of Economics and Finance》以及《运筹与管理》等国内外权威重要学术期刊发表学术论文20余篇。
