Skin effect and interface modes in one-dimensional systems of subwavelength resonators

摘要:This presentation studies the non-Hermitian skin effect and topological interface modes in one-dimensional subwavelength resonator arrays. The non-Hermitian skin effect, where most eigenmodes become exponentially localized at one boundary, is rigorously demonstrated and linked to a topological winding number via the spectral theory of Toeplitz operators. For systems with a structural defect (SSH-type geometry), the existence of robust interface modes within a bandgap is proven, with explicit formulas for their frequencies and exponential convergence properties. Stability analyses under geometric perturbations are also provided.
