摘要:I will talk about a generalization of the Atiyah-Singer index theory to the case when the manifolds are equipped with Lie group actions. When the Lie group is non-compact, the main tools are higher index theory and K-theory of group C*-algebras from non-commutative geometry. I will also talk about its application in representation theory, which are known as Connes-Moscovici theorem, Connes-Kaspartov theorem etc.
