摘要:Equations of mathematical physics are numerous and define many basic principles of physics. The most famous being the Fundamental Principle of Dynamics described by the Newton equations. Th-e Maxwell, Boltzmann or Schrodinger equations illustrate the fundamental principles of electromagnetism, rarefied flows, quantum world. Through some equations, which also were famous names, we are going to illustrate several topics from biology: ecology, neuroscience, cell movement, dynamics of tissue growth.

简介: Benoit Perthame is a member of the French Academy of Sciences, former head of Laboratory Jacque-Louis Lions, a professor at Sorbonne University. Prof. Perthame has been devoted to nonlinear p-artial differential equations and their applications in biology and medicine, including motion of cells and chemotaxis, tumor growth and resistance to chemotherapy, population balance laws and PDE model-s for neural assemblies, etc., where he has done numerous outstanding works. He received the Blaise-Pascal medal in 2013 and the Inria Prize from the France Academy of Sciences in 2015. He was an invi-ted Plenary speaker at ICM Seoul at the 27th  International Congress of Mathematicians in 2014.
